Terms of Service

Bases is a "Bring Your Own Database" (BYOD) platform that provides:

• A visual interface for managing PostgreSQL databases
• Database connection management
• Table and field management tools
• Data visualization and organization features
• API access to your database (your infrastructure)

The Service connects to YOUR PostgreSQL database. You are responsible for your database infrastructure.

2.1 Account Creation

You must create an account to use the Service. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized access
• Be responsible for all activity under your account

2.2 Account Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have parental or guardian consent.

2.3 Account Termination

You may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

You agree NOT to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe intellectual property rights
• Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Use the Service to store illegal content
• Reverse engineer or decompile the Service
• Resell or redistribute the Service without permission
• Use the Service for cryptocurrency mining
• Abuse support or create excessive support requests

4.1 Pricing

Current pricing is available at /pricing. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.

4.2 Billing

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance
• Payment is processed by Stripe
• You authorize recurring charges to your payment method
• Failed payments may result in service suspension

4.3 Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions. Contact support@bases.sh to request a refund.

After 14 days, subscriptions are non-refundable. You may cancel at any time to avoid future charges.

4.4 Taxes

Prices are exclusive of taxes. You are responsible for applicable taxes (VAT, sales tax, etc.).

Your Data is Yours. You retain all rights to your database content. We claim no ownership over your data.

• Your data remains in YOUR PostgreSQL database
• We access your database only to provide the Service
• You can export your data at any time
• Upon account termination, we delete connection credentials (your database content is unaffected)

You grant us a limited license to access and display your data solely to provide the Service.

6.1 Platform Ownership

We own all rights to the Service, including:

• Software, source code, and algorithms
• Trademarks, logos, and branding
• Documentation and content
• UI/UX design

6.2 Your Content Ownership

You own all rights to your database content, including:

• Tables, fields, and data
• Files and attachments
• Custom configurations

6.3 License Grant

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service during your subscription.

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind.

We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:

• Merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Data accuracy or reliability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

This includes liability for:

• Data loss or corruption
• Service downtime or unavailability
• Security breaches
• Third-party actions
• Your database infrastructure

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your database content
• Violation of these Terms
• Violation of third-party rights

10.1 Uptime

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Downtime may occur for:

• Scheduled maintenance (announced in advance)
• Emergency maintenance
• Third-party service outages (Vercel, Stripe, etc.)
• Your database infrastructure issues

10.2 Service Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We may add or remove integrations.

11.1 By You

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period.

11.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• Payment fails and is not resolved
• You abuse the Service
• Required by law

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your access to the Service ends immediately
• We delete your connection credentials
• Your database content is NOT affected (it remains in your database)
• Outstanding fees become immediately due

12.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, contact us at legal@bases.sh to attempt informal resolution.

12.2 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.

12.3 Arbitration

Any disputes not resolved informally will be settled by binding arbitration in [Your Jurisdiction]. You waive the right to a jury trial or class action.

13.1 Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms with 30 days notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

13.2 Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Bases.

13.3 Severability

If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

13.4 Waiver

Failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.

13.5 Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign without restriction.
